District 9 - The East Of Saigon

District 9 was established by Resolution No. 03 – CP of Prime Minister on 06 January 1997 on the base of separating from former Thu Duc District.

District 9 is about 13km away from HCM city centre by Ha Noi Highway: with geographical location as follows:

- The East adjoins with Long Thanh district and Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province by Dong Nai river. - The South west adjoins with district 2. - The South adjoins with Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province. - The North adjoins with Di An town, Binh Duong province

District 9 is divided into 13 wards: Hiep Phu, Long Binh, Long Phuoc, Long Thanh My, Long Truong, Phu Huu, Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Long A, Phuoc Long B, Tan Phu, Tang Nhon Phu A, Tang Nhon Phu B, Truong Thanh. Currently, district 9 is the largest but the least densely populated district compared with other districts in Ho Chi Minh city.
